€1.2m · Pre-Seed · Software · Freiburg, Germany
VUSE XR has raised a €1.2m pre-seed round led by Düsseldorf business angel network IACD, with additional individual angels participating. The Freiburg company will use the capital to develop its VUSE XR Hub, extend its AI-assisted content tools and accelerate commercial growth.
Founded in November 2023 by cousins Niclas Matthias and Dr Paul Matthias, VUSE XR builds software for industrial and life-sciences teams to create, manage and deploy mixed reality training. Its platform converts existing CAD models, engineering data and product documentation into interactive 3D material that can be arranged with AI-assisted tools, text prompts or drag-and-drop controls and delivered through browsers, mobile devices and XR headsets.
Turning bespoke XR projects into a repeatable workflow
The commercial problem is less about access to mixed reality hardware than the cost of producing and maintaining useful content. Traditional agency projects tend to build each training experience separately. That makes updates slow when a product changes and leaves companies repeating work across sites, products and processes.
VUSE XR is trying to move that work into a recurring software workflow. A customer can reuse source data, update a sequence centrally and redeploy it without waiting for another custom build. The company says ZEISS, WITRON, Hologic and Badenova already use the platform to explain complex equipment and deliver practical training without requiring the physical machine to be present at every training site.
That model could turn mixed reality from a demonstration budget into operational software, but the execution challenge is substantial: the platform must reliably ingest varied engineering data, keep content accurate as products evolve and remain usable across different devices. The round therefore backs both product depth and distribution. VUSE XR describes the product as a recurring SaaS platform, while Tech.eu reports that the company also supports onboarding and initial implementations, giving it a path to land with a first use case and expand across more products or locations.
IACD member Markus Roithmeier pointed to the team, AI-assisted technology and early commercial traction as reasons for the investment. Alongside the financing, VUSE XR appointed Jan Hendrik Degner as chief commercial officer and Robert Günther as vice president of sales and service delivery. Their backgrounds span J.P. Morgan, CEWE Group, Meta and Unity, adding commercial and ecosystem experience as the company moves from early deployments toward a broader enterprise sales motion.
