Zurich-based vyzn has secured an undisclosed investment from buildify.earth, bringing a specialist backer in sustainable and circular construction onto its cap table. The company describes the transaction as an investment rather than a newly priced seed round.
The ETH Zurich spin-off develops software for evaluating building designs while major choices are still flexible. According to vyzn, its platform turns digital 3D building models into analyses of cost, CO₂ emissions, energy performance, circularity and comfort. Its Deep Model Processing engine prepares imperfect BIM models for simulation, allowing developers, architects and planners to compare design variants on a common data base.
The value sits before design choices harden
Construction teams often commission cost, energy and environmental studies through separate workflows. vyzn's commercial proposition is to move those calculations into the early design loop, when a change in materials, structure or energy system can still be made without reworking a finished plan. The software becomes more useful if it can serve as a shared decision layer: owners can set targets, designers can test alternatives and advisers can review the same model-derived outputs.
That also defines the execution challenge. Customers must trust the model-cleaning process and the assumptions behind each calculation, while the platform has to fit existing BIM workflows and different national standards. vyzn says its software supports Swiss and German standards, and it has highlighted deployments with organisations including Zurich Airport and Drees & Sommer Switzerland. Expansion therefore depends on proving that analyses remain reliable as projects, data quality and regulatory contexts vary.
A sector investor joins an existing expansion push
buildify.earth says it invests for the long term in startups that make construction more sustainable and circular. Its backers include Switzerland Innovation Park Central, private investors and Zuger Kantonalbank. For vyzn, that sector focus can offer more than capital: an investor rooted in the construction ecosystem may help validate the product with customers who buy on technical credibility and workflow fit.
The investment follows vyzn's December 2025 seed round, led by Spicehaus Partners and Kiilto Ventures. At that time, the company said more than 50 real-estate organisations were using its platform and that it planned to broaden its automated analyses and grow in European markets, starting with Germany. The new investor extends that strategy, but the undisclosed cheque leaves the scale of the additional runway unclear.
