Frankfurt-based Willidrop, which coordinates vehicle transport for dealers, leasing companies and manufacturers, has raised an undisclosed funding round from TA Ventures, True Growth Capital, TXL Capital and business angels. Deutsche Startups reported the financing on 29 July, while a WHU article the next day said the company was leaving stealth with fresh capital to build its AI-native operating system for vehicle logistics.
Turning transport coordination into software
Moving a car across Europe is less a single booking than a chain of hand-offs. A transport team must price the job, find a suitable carrier, combine compatible loads, answer status requests, resolve exceptions and collect delivery evidence. Willidrop says its platform brings pricing, carrier matching, updates and signed proof of delivery into one live workflow, with human control retained where it matters.
The company’s commercial bet is that software can absorb more of the coordination work rather than merely record it. WHU reported that three AI agents already support customers, carriers and Willidrop’s own operations across more than 400 verified transport partners. That network matters because the product’s usefulness depends on both sides of the market: customers need enough reliable capacity for a quoted job, while carriers need well-matched loads and clearer instructions.
Willidrop’s founders built the product after working inside the process. According to WHU, co-founder Tobias Fuchs had previously helped run a vehicle-logistics operation handling around 1,500 deliveries a month. The team then began by matching customers and carriers directly, learning where pricing, route bundling and exception handling broke down before turning those steps into software.
That operating-first approach can give the platform better workflow data, but it also sets a demanding execution test. Vehicle movements still depend on external carriers, changing routes and physical handovers. Automation creates value only if quotes remain accurate, exceptions surface early and every participant trusts the shared record. The funding gives Willidrop room to develop the platform and accelerate market entry; repeatable service quality across a growing partner network will determine whether the software reduces coordination cost without simply moving manual work behind the interface.
Founded by Tobias Fuchs, Maximilian Thon and Andreas Wissel, Willidrop is positioning itself as the coordination layer between automotive businesses and transport providers. The round amount was not disclosed, and the reporting did not identify a lead investor.
